Wei Ting is a skilled VFX Producer, Creative Producer, commission filmmaker, and artist who has extensive experience in scaling film production globally. In her most recent role, she served as the VFX Producer at Moving Picture Company, where she successfully managed visual effects for feature films.
 

Early Career:


As a MOE Art Elective Program Scholar, UOB Painting of the Year Platinum Award recipient, and Singapore Youth Festival Gold with Honours Award winner, Wei Ting's artistic abilities were recognized early on. She began her career as a storyboard artist, script supervisor, and assistant editor at Boku Film, contributing to Singapore's first Hollywood film, "The Faith of Anna Waters." This experience fueled her passion for post-production, leading her to join Freeflow Production, Singapore's largest independent advertising production company, as a Creative Producer. During her tenure there, she went beyond her responsibilities, scouting top-tier international artists and production houses, contributing to the company's portfolio.
 

Freelancing and Athletic Pursuits:

Eager to step out of her comfort zone, Wei Ting left Freeflow to pursue freelance opportunities while dedicating herself to being a full-time athlete. As the goalkeeper for the Singapore national water polo team, she underwent rigorous training. Amidst this, she produced her own short film and had the honor of representing Singapore in FLY (ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders Incubator) organized by the Busan Film Commission. Wei Ting created a remarkable short film titled "The Sand and the Sea" and won in the SEA Short Film Festival held in Indonesia.
 

Venturing into 3D:


Seeking new challenges, Wei Ting ventured into the world of 3D at Carbon TV. As the primary liaison for clients in Chinese-speaking regions, including Taiwan and China, she immersed herself in the 3D pipeline. Wei Ting initiated the use of scrum methodology in pre-production, streamlining post-production and achieving a 20% reduction in turnaround time and 15% cost savings. Additionally, she took on the role of key editor for interview-based films, showcasing her adaptability and versatility.
 

Establishing Singapore's Branch Production Team:

Wei Ting spearheaded the establishment of Zorba's branch production team in Singapore. From inception, she implemented operational protocols that optimized profitability and efficiency. Through the introduction of scrum methodology in pre-production, Wei Ting successfully reduced turnaround time by 20% and project costs by 15%.
 

Entrepreneurial Endeavors with Artjumma:

Being an entrepreneur at heart, Wei Ting founded Artjumma, a personalized gift shop. Combining her skills in conceptualization, directing, video editing, and Photoshop, she turned people's photos into cute illustrations, celebrating milestones or cherishing memories of their loved ones. Artjumma represents her passion for brand building and operational efficiency. Within just one year, Wei Ting grew Artjumma's following to 15k before successfully exiting the business through a sale.
 

Love for Narration-Based Film and Move to Canada:

Driven by her love for narration-based film, Wei Ting took a leap of faith and relocated to Canada to join forces with Moving Picture Company as a VFX Producer. Drawing on her prior experience on set and knowledge of directing, she effectively analyzes scripts and picks up Bids vs Actuals.
 

Throughout her journey, Wei Ting has embraced the philosophy that one is never too old to learn. This belief has fueled her passion for continuous growth and exploration in all aspects of life.

 

She hopes to inspire and remind others to do the same.
